CALM – ‘Is There Anybody Alive Out There? / Something’s Changing’

Words: Sharc Bolan / @sharcbolan

  • These tracks were written and self-produced in a box room during the COVID-19 lockdown.
  • No strangers to WTF?, pre-corona these boys were conquering the London circuit, playing with the likes of CHILDCARE, Neon Waltz & The Dunts.
  • Check out their WTF? Session performance of ‘Carpe Diem‘ from December HERE.

Having been synced on a Netflix series and supported the likes of Paris Youth Foundation and CHILDCARE already this year (before the virus hit), CALM have not been halted by the global pandemic one bit. Firstly they shared an impressive isolation demo and video, whilst managing not to break any social distancing rules – well done. Now we see a fully-fledged double release from the South London outfit.

Is There Anybody Alive Out There?‘ reflects upon feelings of isolation and being cut off from the world, whilst ‘Something’s Changing‘ takes a look at how everyone’s lives have been impacted as a result of the global crisis. With poignant artwork to match, the group are looking to make the most of what they have and launch back into live shows as soon as possible (when it’s safe to do so, of course)…
