CANDY // ‘Manipulation’ & ‘What a Shame’

Words: Sharc Bolan / @sharcbolan

  • The group supported Daddy Long Legs at Paper Dress Vintage alongside The Shadracks earlier this year.
  • Before COVID-19, CANDY had shows lined up at London’s Helgi’s as well as a headliner at Brighton’s Green Door Store – so stay tuned for when we can venture outside again!
  • For fans of: The 60’s, The Murlocs and FUR.

Step inside the CANDY shop, if that shop was violently spinning round and snatched straight out of the 60’s; take your pick of The 13th Floor Elevators from one shelf before making your way to Count Five in aisle four. You might need a trolley though as you need to keep room for the originality of the South London/Brighton four piece which brings them right up to speed in 2020 (or maybe slightly into the future).

Manipulation sets you off on a whirlwind of effortlessly cool, energetic and explosive sounds being followed up by the more chilled vibes of What a Shame. ‘Just gimme some time’ is what you’ll be saying as you try to digest what just came through your ears.
