Arriving on the Irish hip-hop scene in 2018, Alex Gough has become one of Ireland’s hottest musical exports. Taking elements from jazz, funk and hip-hop, Gough has a track record of releasing huge tunes (FOOL, Step to Me, and HEART ATTACK to name a few). ‘PLASTIC (DBS)’ showcases Gough’s emotional side with self-examining lyrics over a well-produced jazz backbeat.

“I should take my own advice” is a line that sums up the feeling of the track. The melancholic brass and keys match the lyrics and vocal delivery, while the drums keep the song moving forward until the sub-bass hits in the second verse. The fusion of jazz and hip-hop on this track is becoming an Alex Gough signature and the ‘FOREVER CLASSIC’ EP is shaping up to be one of the musical highlights of the year.
