Kicking 2020 off with two singles, a headline tour, and a sold-out show at Rough Trade in Bristol, Make Friends were set to make the most of the year. Whilst the nationwide lockdown might have put live plans on hold, the band have still been keeping busy writing and sharing with us their latest single ‘Hesitate’.
‘Hesitate’ sets the tone with dreamy synths and a laidback drum beat, providing the perfect platform for the brilliant vocal work. The lead melody is relaxed and not too bold, but the backing vocals add beautiful layers of depth and harmony to the track. For a band who only started releasing music at the start of 2019, ‘Hesitate’ is mature and well-written. Make Friends are a band to keep your eye on.
