Chappaqua Wrestling // ‘Football’

  • This group are already endorsed by the likes of NME and Dork Mag as well as 6 Music and BBC Radio 1.
  • “I hate your friends / That’s me out” is the cyclical croon from lead singer Charlie Woods.
  • Huw Stephens even picked them to record a single at Abbey Road.

Football‘ builds on a classic sound of thick, sprawling, looping guitar riffs which swirl around a story of social displacement and unease in one’s surroundings.

Always building to a point where you never know when it’s going to explode but when it does, you’ll definitely know about it as you’re thrown into a blissful distorted euphoria. We can certainly see their comparison with Teenage Fanclub and we’re big fans of the Brighton/Manchester-based duo.
