- Sticky Fingers are finally back with their new track, ‘We Can Make The World Glow’
- Misleading, sultry soul-pop with funk-infused guitar and synth
- Their fifth studio album ‘We Can Make The World Glow’ is due for release in March 2022
Sticky Fingers are a veteran indie act with no representation, no late night tv slots and little radio play. The band came out of nowhere, kicked down the door and established themselves as a cult favourite all the way back in 2011. Since then they’ve maintained a growing following as their sound has evolved, and the evolution continues with their newest track, ‘We Can Make The World Glow’.
Swelling synths and a wavy groove paint the track in a sensual and tender tone, while the lyrics, sung in Dylan Frost’s signature indie-rock warble, reflect a hopefulness for our individual struggles and how that affects the world around us. The five-piece describe it as “a really uplifting track about getting on with life amidst the demons in your head and other shit that weighs you down”.
With a pop-soul vibe and licks so smooth you could slide along them, this misleadingly-sultry track offers up a fresh reincarnation and a new sound.
This track heralds the return of the band after a long hiatus, and it’s clear they’re still on top form – the indie darlings that can do no wrong. Be sure to mark your calendars for the release of their fifth studio album, also titled ‘We Can Make The World Glow’, set for release in March 2022.
